Players Trying out for a Competitive Team:

If a player intends to tryout for District B competitive hockey (i.e. Golden Knights, Sting, Junior 67s), they MUST first ‘pre-register’ with their home association prior to registering for competitive tryout. NOTE: there is no fee to ‘pre-register’ with your home association.

Players who are accepted on a competitive team will pay their registration fees directly to the competitive association.

Players who are not accepted, must complete their registration with their home association’s house league program as quickly as possible and pay the registration fees. Your ‘pre-registration’ does not count as no fees were collected. Players who fail to complete registration with their home association, including payment, will not be allowed on the ice with their home association (including sort-outs).

The WEHL is pleased to offer an early registration fee to those who register by June 23, 2023. Unfortunately, players who intend to tryout for competitive do not qualify as they are only pre-registering with the WEHL at this point in time.

NOTE: If you accidentally register for both competitive and house league, and are accepted into District B competitive, you will be charged an administration fee for cancelling your house league registration per our Refunds and Rebates policy.

Transferring into the WEHL from Another League:

As a rule, the WEHL does not accept or encourage transfers to or from the league except in certain circumstances as outlined on our Transfers page.

5** Complete the online course called Respect in Sport – Parent

  • This is a compulsory, one-time online course which must be completed by at least one family member before a child will be allowed on the ice.
  • If you’ve taken the course before for another child, you don’t need to take it again.
  • To avoid complications, please register for the course only AFTER you have completed Steps 1-3 and AFTER you received your email confirmation.
  • Course Link: http://www.hockeyeasternontario.ca/pages/parents/respectinsport.htm

NOTE: Respect is Sport is MANDATORY, and will be audited before your child
will be allowed on the ice. Failure to complete the course before September 1st
may delay the start of their season!

Notes:

  • * Steps 1 & 2 are one-time processes, which will not need to be repeated in future years for the same child.
  • ** Step 5 (Respect in Sport -- Parent) is a one-time course per household. As long as one parent completed the course, including previously for another child, it does not need to be repeated. But, each player's individual account must be correctly linked to the Hockey Canada account of the parent who holds the certification.
