Financial Assistance

The West End Hockey League (WEHL) recognizes that playing hockey can be expensive. To help ensure that every child with a passion for hockey has the opportunity to play, we list here some of the programs available to families in need of a little extra support.

Hockey Canada Foundation Assist Fund

Hockey Canada is honoured to support young Canadians with funding towards their hockey registration fees. To donate or apply, please visit:

Equipment for Kids

WEHL Sponsorship Program

The WEHL offers financial assistance to families to further support the cost of playing hockey. This program is funded by donations from WHEL families and is intended to support those who would suffer undue hardship due to registration costs.

If additional assistance is required after applying to the Hockey Canada Assist Fund, Jumpstart or Equipment for Kids programs, please inquire about the WEHL Sponsorship Program by contacting our Treasurer (treasurer@westendhockey.com).

To donate to the WEHL Sponsorship Program, please send an e-transfer to treasurer@westendhockey.com.

Payment Plan

The WEHL also recognizes that paying for registration fees at once can be a burden for some. To discuss or to arrange paying in installments, please contact our Treasurer (treasurer@westendhockey.com).

Julie Dunnigan Memorial Bursary

Since the 2018-2019 season, WEHL has proudly awarded a U18 level player with a $500 scholarship from the Julie Dunnigan Memorial Bursary.
