About the Bursary

Since the 2018-2019 season, the West End Hockey League (WEHL) has proudly awarded the Julie Dunnigan Memorial Bursary, a $500 scholarship, to a deserving U18 level player.

Julie Dunnigan, an active WEHL volunteer and former board member, passed away in late 2018. In her honour, her family established this bursary to recognize and assist a WEHL player who is advancing to college or university to further their academic journey.

Eligibility

  • A U18 level player registered with the WEHL in the current season;
  • Played house league hockey with the WEHL for a minimum of four (4) years;
  • Is in good standing of the WEHL;
  • Has applied to a recognized post-secondary institution as a full-time student in the coming fall;
  • Has submitted a complete application form by the deadline.

Application

We are now accepting applications for the 7th Annual Julie Dunnigan Memorial Bursary for the 2024-2025 season!

The application deadline is May 1, 2025.
