Coach Resources

The West End Hockey League (WEHL) prides itself on being run entirely by dedicated volunteers and would not be able to exist without their help. The WEHL is asking every parent to volunteer for at least one of the many volunteer opportunities. Most jobs require only a little time, but are essential for the league to run smoothly. In addition to Coaches, Assistant Coaches, Trainers and Team Managers, the association needs active parents to help with such areas as Division Convener, Timekeeper, Registration, Equipment, Fundraising and Special Events, among many others. In some cases, training and/or clinics are available.

General Information on Volunteering with the WEHL

  • All volunteers automatically agree to adhere to the WEHL Code of Conduct.   The WEHL Code of Conduct automatically applies to all members registered with the WEHL and whose names appear on an official ODMHA team list for the WEHL.
  • All  volunteers, no matter what the position (head coach, assistant coach, manager, trainer or on-ice volunteer), must meet Hockey Eastern Ontario requirements, which are outlined on our Clinics page.
  • To be a Head Coach, you must apply and complete the Coaching Application Form.
  • Please visit the Clinics page to ensure you have the required qualifications for your desired volunteer position.
