Congratulations to Wolverine alumnus Luke Boyle on becoming the 4th Annual Recipient of the Julie Dunnigan Memorial Bursary!

Since 2019, the West End Hockey League (WEHL) has proudly awarded a WEHL Midget level player with a $500 scholarship from the Julie Dunnigan Memorial Bursary. Julie Dunnigan was an active West End Hockey volunteer and former board member who passed away in late 2018.  Her family established this bursary to recognize a WEHL player who is advancing to college or university to pursue their academics.

Luke first joined the West End Hockey League as a novice player and played with the Wolverines until last season. Luke could be found on the ice helping coaches with their practices or managing the score clock and time sheet during games. Off the ice, Luke often helped out at the registration desk and with the distribution of practice jerseys. Now a full-time student at the University of Ottawa, we wish Luke all the best in achieving his goal of becoming a software engineer.

Registration for this season’s bursary will open in coming months.
